One of Southwestern's most popular CNC retrofits, the ProtoTRAK EMX, is available for installation on any current or future Bridgeport rebuild. The ProtoTRAK can speed up machining on complex jobs, especially with designs involving complex shapes where accuracy is important. An upgrade over floppy based systems, the ProtoTRAK uses USB thumb drives to hold many more designs and programs than previously possible (a 1GB USB drive can hold over 1,000 programs, compared to the 20 programs a typical floppy can hold). One of the easiest CNC systems to use, the ProtoTRAK's learning curve is lessened with the built in math assistant, allowing first time operators to master the system in a fraction of the time spent in typical training.
